Over The Door Organizer, 6-Tier Heavy-Duty Metal Mesh Rack, Adjustable Large Baskets, 2-in-1 Hanging or Wall Mount

I was needing extra storage for my pantry items, and ran across this gem. This over the door organizer, is space saving and easy to install. All you need to do is hang it over any door, no screws or tools needed. Construction is of good quality and definitely worth the price.

Reclaiming dead vertical space behind interior doors is one of the most effective ways to expand functional storage in compact utility areas, yet most hanging organizers fail under real-world loads. Flimsy fabric shoe pockets stretch and sag under modest weight, while basic wire-frame racks often feature open-back wire spacing that allows tall spray bottles and narrow containers to tip over or slip through the gaps. This six-tier over-the-door organizer bypasses those shortcomings by utilizing a rigid, powder-coated carbon steel frame paired with dense metal mesh baskets, creating a structured vertical storage column engineered to hold substantial weight without flexing.Assembly and initial setup are remarkably straightforward, requiring minimal hardware to join the interlocking vertical spine channels. Once the backbone is assembled, the modular basket brackets drop into the slotted uprights, allowing you to customize the vertical spacing between tiers. In a utility or laundry room application, this adjustability is critical; it allows the lower and middle baskets to be spaced far enough apart to accommodate tall liquid detergent jugs, fabric softeners, and spray bottles, while keeping the upper baskets tighter for smaller items like stain sticks, dryer balls, and cleaning brushes. The closed mesh design on the baskets provides full bottom and perimeter support, preventing smaller containers from wobbling or tipping over when placed upright.Mechanical execution on a swinging door requires careful consideration of frame tolerances and dynamic inertia. The upper bracket hooks are stamped from slim sheet steel designed to wrap over standard 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" interior residential doors without causing excessive interference against the top door jamb. While the low-profile bracket generally clears standard door frames without preventing the latch from catching, checking the gap between the top of the door and the head jamb is still necessary to prevent rubbing on tightly hung doors. Furthermore, loading multiple tiers with dense laundry liquids adds noticeable rotational inertia to the door leaf. To counter the natural pendulum effect when opening and closing the door, securing the frame against the door face with the included adhesive pads or mechanical anchors is essential to eliminate rattling, frame slap, and lateral sway. The dual-mount capability also adds long-term flexibility, allowing the frame to transition from over-the-door hanging to a permanent wall-mounted rack via pre-drilled hard points if door clearances or layout changes require it. By pairing simple, low-effort assembly with a stiff steel framework and adaptable shelf heights, the organizer effectively converts the back of a laundry room door from dead clearance space into high-density, accessible utility storage that stays stable through daily use.

This is an ok metal organizer. I found it frustrating to put together and while it looks nice and holds a lot, the baskets don't stay on securely. I also was not impressed with using zip ties to attach suction cups to stabilize it. Overall this just feels cheap and it is worth spending a little more to have a more secure solution.

After using several different fabric style "behind the door storage" hangers and dealing with the frustrations of them wearing out or collapsing after a while, the second I saw this metal shelved door hanger, I had to give it a try and so far I'm very happy that I did! Not only are these shelves much sturdier than others I've used, but they're strong, well built and spacious! This has tremendously helped me organize my 3D printing storage closet and has opened up more room for filament storage as I'm able to completely store all of my tools and small odds and ends in these shelves, with room to spare! These also look more polished and sleek than the hanging fabric baskets, that have began to droop over the last couple of years. This did have a bit more of an involved installation process that the other kind, but I was still able to have it together, hanging on my door and items into the shelves within 15 minutes. My only issue and the reason I've given 4 stars is because of the thickness of the brackets that go over the top of the door. I get that they need to be thicker, but if you have doors that fit snug, these might not be sufficient. With my particular closet, the brackets for the top fit incredibly snug and have slightly caused the door to stick a bit. It's by no way a deal breaker as I love how much organization this has allowed me and it's just a small issue, which may not have any affect with another door or anyone else's.

I have several of the fabric over-the-door storage organizers in various rooms throughout my home, so I ordered this metal Over The Door Organizer by DAOTENGQL for my garage door. It is a good way to take advantage of unused space for storage, but it does have some drawbacks. The five mesh baskets provide decent space for organizing everyday items, and the metal construction feels sturdier than the fabric organizers. But the design isn't as practical as I'd hoped, and there is room for improvement. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it as intended and had to use it on the inside of the door (not facing the garage). The adjustable basket heights make it easy to customize the storage for different-sized items. The mesh design makes it easy to see what’s stored in each basket, and the metal material is good for holding heavier items. But it is a bit bulkier than the flexible fabric ones, and any slight bump knocks the baskets right off. They aren't as firmly secured in the holes as they should be, and I don't know how many times I have had to readjust or pick up the baskets (and the contents) off of the floor from accidentally, barely nudging it while opening the door.Installation wasn't terribly confusing, but it was time-consuming having to piece several small parts together. Overall, I'm not as impressed with this metal over-the-door organizer as I thought I'd be, but it is sturdy enough to serve its function. I think I'll likely stick with the fabric organizers going forward, but will continue using this ... at least until the baskets fall off enough times that I get fed up and just take the entire thing down.
